Discussions > Wedding in Stop Motion

I have really fallen in love with the stop motion medium. It's great for travel photography. My first two videos were shot in Copenhagen and London.

I think stop motion also works really well at events. A few weeks ago, I attended my cousin's wedding and created the following video:

Wedding in Stop Motion

The only thing I've struggled with up to this point is finding satisfactory royalty-free music. I've tried jamendo.com and freemusicarchive.org, but I had trouble finding anything suitable. I'd appreciate any helpful suggestions.

Thanks for the inspiration, Petra!

Hi Marc,
I think your best bet is to find some local artists who will let you use their music for free or barter with them. Other than that, I found lots of royalty free songs on Soundcloud. There is an advanced search option where you can select the type of copyright/terms for the songs you are searching for. All my recent stopmotions use music from Soundcloud.

Marc!!!

I would love to try and achieve the result you got from the wedding video!!!!

My main problem is Im a novice camera user and Im not sure about somethings! Ive got a DSLR but shooting for this type of stop motion I dont really know how....Camera settings is everything done is manual? Manual focus, etc? What about iso and white balance etc?....Another things if everything is manual and to shoot I suppose you have to move around and keep shooting do you have to constantly adjust focus, exposure etc??

Do you use the continuos shooting and just shoot bursts of images?

Would this be correct: Start shooting while walking, move in on objects and people, also use zoom to zoom in on things....move around while shooting, etc....is that how you did it?

Can you give me some pointers?

Ive actually got a wedding this week and would love to give it a try!

How big is your sd camera card? Ive got 4 gigs.....enough?

thank you and please reply!!!
